It’s been quite sometime since we last heard, news related to Google TV. Bloomberg reported that Toshiba and Vizio are planning to release their part of products based on Google TV platform. Both the companies have promised support the internet search giant, in bringing the Web to TV screens.


Vizio Inc. and Toshiba Corp., would unveil Google TV supported products at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to take place in Las Vegas in January, 2011. Apart from the above, Samsung would is being rumored to launched a Google TV device.


None of the companies confirmed on any such product launch but a close source asked the public to be aware. If the rumors prove to be true, Google would surely administer a boost as things haven’t been good at Google’s end. The search giant clashed with TV networks over allowing their content to be displayed online.

Sony Corp., is the pioneer who has implemented the software on television sets and Blu-ray players while Logitech International SA used it on a set-top box.


Jeff Barney, General Manager Toshiba Digital Products, told:



Google certainly is a key partner for us on the PC side and will likely be key for us on the TV side as well.


Vizio and Samsung had no comments on connecting Google’s software to their part of the gadgets. But Samsung did reveal that a relationship with Google TV is under consideration.
